The Annual Meeting of the Mons. Camillo Faresin Foundation was held last March 25 at the Faresin Formwork headquarters in Breganze (VI). The event entitled "Acting Together to Progress, Together. Tales of (extra)ordinary stories", was followed by a charity dinner in support of CUAMM's project For the mothers and children of Rumbek Hospital.
During the evening, the Annual Report 2022 was distributed with an account of the projects supported in the last 12 months, covering as many as 4 continents and 10 countries around the world and covering areas such as: health, education and training, research, socio-cultural protection and housing. Guests of the panel discussion coordinated by Andrea Frison, Editor of La Voce dei Berici, Don Dante Carraro, Director of Doctors with Africa CUAMM, Laura Vezzaro, Volunteer of Operation Mato Grosso, Beatrice Simonato, Volunteer for the Water Project, Kenya and Michele Pasqualetto, Director of Villa Savardo. The latter shared with the audience their experience of volunteering in as many projects funded by the Mons. Camillo Faresin Foundation: real (extra)ordinary stories!
The event was attended by as many as 380 supporters, who wanted to show support toward the Foundation's activities.
South Sudan, in recent years, has suffered greatly from a continuing lack of security, very severe poverty, and natural disasters that have resulted in famine and starvation. This means that half of the population has no access to clean water and nearly 3 million children do not go to school, there is 1 doctor for every 65,000 people and 1 midwife for every 10,000 deliveries. Rumbek Hospital is now the only referral health facility for an area of about 600,000 people.
This year the Monsignor Camillo Faresin Foundation has renewed its commitment to the For the Moms and Babies Project at Rumbek Hospital. The Foundation's intervention will support the rehabilitation of the Maternity ward and delivery room and ensure a supply of medicines for hospitalized mothers and babies.
